Embracing Your True Nature - Both the Human and the Being

Have you ever beaten yourself up for expressing some part of you that others didn’t quite approve of?
Maybe you laughed too loudly.
Said what you really thought.
Stayed quiet when you wished you had spoken up.
Got a little too enthusiastic in a room full of very serious people.
Or maybe you did that thing you do - the one you secretly know is part of your charm, but still find yourself judging afterward.
Many of us are proud of our gifts, yet we second-guess our messier human parts.
We may love that we are smart, but cringe when we realize we just corrected a friend.
We may appreciate our playfulness and acceptance of others, yet judge ourselves for being “too much” when everyone else seems calm and composed.
We may pride ourselves on being a good listener, yet criticize ourselves for being “too quiet.”
When it comes to being human, many of us try very hard to embrace the “being” part - and cringe at the “human” part.
But what if our beauty lies in being both?
Integrating Parts: Why We Need Both Our "Stitch" and "Yoda"
Recently, Mark and I visited Paris. As we wandered through the city, taking in museums, storefronts, cafés, and all the Parisian treasures, we found ourselves falling into one of our old, familiar conversations about our relationship: what we appreciate about each other, and what still doesn’t quite align or occasionally bugs us.
I was talking about the part of me that loves teaching the True Success Framework (a method we use to help leaders and therapists alike), the centered, wise, Essence-connected part - and also the messier, more “human” sides of me that sometimes get me into trouble.
As I was talking, I looked over and saw a storefront window with two figurines: Stitch, smiling maniacally, and Grogu - Baby Yoda - serenely using the Force.
I burst out laughing.
“That’s me!” I told Mark. “I’m Stitch and Yoda. A lot of people want me to be Yoda, but Stitch is part of the package. I’m both. And I love that about me!”
So after walking past this shop two more times during our trip, we had to buy these figurines and bring them home.
After years of release practice and deepening into my Essence, I have come to embrace both the “human” and the “being” in my human-beingness.
And honestly? It’s a joy.
The more I release old fears, conditioning, and beliefs about who I am “supposed” to be, the more I come home to my own unique expression of Maureen: teacher and goofball, wisdom and mischief, grounded presence and occasional wild enthusiasm.
And I love her.
Embracing your Whole Human Nature
At True Success For All, we are invited to release the old fears and beliefs that keep us split against ourselves. As we reconnect with our Essence, we begin to experience our inherent goodness once again - not as some polished, perfect version of ourselves, but as the full, alive, beautifully human expression of who we truly are.
We don’t have to choose between our wisdom and our weirdness.
Our depth and our delight.
Our calm and our chaos.
Our Yoda and our Stitch.
We get to integrate it all.
As for me, I’m embracing Stitch and Yoda. What about you? What’s your human - and what’s your being?
